What’s in the library

The PF Create Reference Library is a curated collection of Royalty Free images drawn from over 3000 open collections. All images are free to use public domain and CC0-licensed with no attribution required for Public Domain and CC0 images (check the license info for attribution restrictions on others).

The library grows continuously. New images are constantly being added based on every search made. If a search returns fewer than 100 results, wait a few minutes and try again for more.

⚠️ Living people — check personality rights before commercial use; do not use as an AI generation reference. ⚠️ Unidentified people — use carefully in commercial contexts. 🏛️ Historical figures — generally safe, rights usually lapsed. CC BY 4.0 ⚠️ = attribution required.

How to use the library

Three ways to use library images

Use as an AI generation referenceUse library(action=’search’) to find images, then library(action=’download’) to copy one to your personal reference store. The image is then ready to use as a reference in AI image generation.
Upload direct to WordPressAsk your AI to find a library image and upload it directly to your WordPress media library. No manual downloading required.
Important

Images featuring people

While most library images are public domain or CC0, images featuring real people require extra care, regardless of their copyright status. Copyright and personality rights are separate — a public domain photograph may still show a living person who has rights over commercial use of their likeness.

Every library image includes a depicts_real_person flag in its metadata:

FlagMeaningGuidance
No people ✅No person depictedSafe to use for any purpose.
Living person ⚠️Identifiable living individualUse with caution. Personality rights apply. Avoid commercial use without consent. Do not use as an AI generation reference to create new images of that person.
Historical figure 🏛️Deceased, named individualGenerally safe. Personality rights have usually lapsed. Check context for sensitive historical figures.
Unidentified person ⚠️Person shown but not namedUse carefully. Person may be living. Avoid commercial use in contexts that could be misleading or defamatory.
